Hello – my name is Maggie

My closest friends call me “Mags,” but you have to earn it. I enjoy traveling, Disney World, watching sports, cooking, crafting and baking friend’s birthday cakes. I have a passion for design. Design can be seen everywhere, whether good or bad, it is still there for me to subconsciously critique and quiz myself on their font usage. Yes, I’m a nerd about type, but I’m proud of that because it makes me different than the average designer. Let’s put it this way, do you know anyone who got a tattoo specifically because it used their favorite font? Didn’t think so. (It’s Century Gothic by the way). Want to know more about me? What’s your Hogwarts House?

Ravenclaw with Gryffindor as a close second. Basically, I am the reverse of Hermione Granger and I’m okay with it.

If you were stranded on a deserted island, would you know how to survive?

In short, yes, but it would probably look a lot like Tom Hanks, a la “Castaway.” Introverts need friends too! But I was a Girl Scout. I know what’s up.

Your resume says something about being a “stagehand?” What does that mean exactly? Have you met someone famous?

I set up concerts and events in Central Arkansas. It is a very interesting job that has provided years of interesting stories about interesting characters along the way. So, its interesting…okay? And yes, I’ve met famous people. Ask me about it sometime!

What’s the best ride at Disney World?

Mad Hatter’s Tea Party. When I worked at Disney World for a hot minute, I would go to the park just to ride the teacups and get a cream cheese filled pretzel from The Lunching Pad on the way.

You don’t sound like you’re from around here…

You’re right! I am from Doylestown, PA, which is a suburb of Philly. I live in Arkansas at the moment, but not for any particular reason other than its cheaper to live here. Give me a reason to leave.

So you cook AND bake? Are you a unicorn?

My nieces would love if I was an actual unicorn, but I am not. Yes, I do cook and bake and wow people with my kitchen skills. I’m the annoying person that posts pictures of their food on Instagram, but I don’t care! I like making people jealous that I can cook, okay? (That’s not totally true, but I’ll cook for you if that will get me the job.)

I’ve gotta know, who are you cheering for on days that end in ‘y?’

Ohio State Buckeyes, Philadelphia Phillies, Flyers and Eagles. Sorry basketball, much to my father’s chagrin, I’m not a fan. I also have a lot of opinions on said sports. I can’t help it, its how we roll in Philly.
